Last Thursday, Deloitte announced the annual ranking of the 50 fastest growing tech companies in the Netherlands. No less than 8 companies in the ranking are based in Groningen and this is the fourth year in a row where Groningen as a city is in second place. And just like last year whopping 33% of Groningen companies are in the top 10 too.
VoIPGRID (3rd place, 2216% growth)
Mark Vletter’s telecommunications platform is also sector winner in Communication. Voys, the founder’s other company didn’t compete this year, but made it to the Fast50 for a whopping 4 consecutive years.
Athleteshop (7th place 972% growth)
This is the first year the online sportswear shop is featured in the Fast50. Last year, Athleteshop was the fastest growing Ecommerce company in the Netherlands and the first recipient of the Ecommerce 50-award.
Gadero (9th place, 787% growth)
Online wood and furniture shop Gaderohas made it to the list for the second time a row. Last year, Gadero was ranked number 10.
Brandfield (20th place, 496% growth)
This is the third time the online fashion store made it to the Fast50. Last year, the company was ranked 29th, with a growth percentage of 347%
Embrace SBS (21st place, 439% growth)
The social company software platform Embrace SBS is also featured for the second year in a row.
Haxo (37th place, 279% growth)
DIY webshop Haxo is the new kid on the block, making it to 37th place in Deloitte’s ranking.
Adresults (38th place, 275% growth)
The online marketing consultancy agency is also one of the new additions, making it to the list for the first time.
EDC Internet (43rd place, 246% growth)
EDC Internet from Veendam (Groningen province) is one of the biggest online retailers for erotic toys in Europe, and is also active in China, Oceania and North and South America.
The Deloitte Fast50 is one of the leading rankings for fast growing tech companies in the world. Nominated companies have to be founded at least four years ago and the selection is based on the percentage of revenue growth in the past four years. This year was the 17th edition of the annual ranking, celebrating extraordinary achievements of tech companies.
With a place in the Fast50, competing companies are also automatically in the running for a spot in the EMEA Fast500, to be announced later this year. The EMEA Fast500 ranks the 500 fastest growing companies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Last year, Catawiki dominated that list as well.
