Flinc knowledge and inspiration session with Pieter Schoen

On May 20, Flinc is organizing a knowledge and inspiration session with Pieter Schoen for investors. This session will take place online from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

Pieter Schoen is a serial entrepreneur and known for the TV program Dragons Den, among others. Pieter is co-founder of the Nederlandse Energie Maatschappij, which was sold in 2018 to the Nuts Groep and Private Equity Huis Waterland. That gave Pieter the opportunity to do what he likes best: making companies great. Twelve years ago, in 2009, he already set up an investment fund with a number of college friends that focuses on startups. Since then they have helped 12 companies. But Pieter also wanted to help companies that are a little further in their development. That is why he started a new company, Shoe Investments , where he helps scale-ups with investments of between 2 and 10 million euros.

Shoe Investments invests directly in fast-growing and scalable companies through investments of up to approximately 10 million Euro. Shoe Investments is a hands-on investor who adds value through his knowledge of e-commerce, B2B as well as B2C, sales, marketing, finance & control. In addition to direct investments, Shoe Investments also invests in funds (worldwide private equity, venture capital, real estate, etc.). Shoe Investments currently has approximately thirty participating interests, directly and indirectly.

During this knowledge and inspiration session , Bjorn Redmeijer (Project Manager Flinc) will talk to Pieter Schoen about his experiences as an entrepreneur and how he started as an investor. Matters such as: what selection criteria does Pieter use and how does he fulfill his role as an investor. Pieter will also discuss: generating deal flow, “red flags”, valuations and managing his portfolio. Finally, many practical examples will be discussed: misses, successes and anecdotes that will remain with you for a long time.
