Location: Online - BlueJeans platform
VentureClass is a networking event in which entrepreneurs and everybody interested in entrepreneurial ventures can listen to an invited speaker with experience in the field.
This is a series of sessions (now online due to the pandemic) organized by the UG Centre of Entrepreneurship in collaboration with VentureLab North. The session is meant to be an interactive platform for anyone with or without experience in entrepreneurship.
This month's speaker Jeroen Blokhuis is the managing director of LungHealth, a life science investment firm dedicated to lung diseases. Jeroen has a PhD in comparative immunogenetics and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. He co-founded Biotech Connection Bay Area and co-chaired the biotech/pharma investment committee at Life Science Angels.
Since 2016, Jeroen led business development and partnerships at the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy in San Francisco. Here he established collaborations with other nonprofit organizations, biotech and pharma companies, managed a portfolio of 100+ patents, and spun out and invested in over 10 startups now valued at over $1.5 billion. He returned back to the Netherlands in 2019, and after a role as CBO at Pivot Park is now looking forward to helping translate exciting scientific discoveries into new ventures.
Jeroen will share all about the hits and misses in his entrepreneurial journey throughout Silicon Valley and coming back to Europe.
